Turbulence injures 5 passengers during Delta flight on West Coast (video)

Three of the injured people, two passengers and a flight attendant, were taken to a hospital, the Reno Gazette Journal reports. It sounded like we hit two brick buildings at 30,000 feet, Dennis Smith, one of the 59 passengers on board Compass Airlines Flight 5763, tells KIRO Channel 7. Another passenger tells KOMO News that he saw a drink cart and flight attendant hit the ceiling during the turbulence. The Gazette Journal reports strong winter storms were moving through the area and that the National Weather Service had warned there could be dangerous flying conditions with extreme turbulence during flights.

Ex-Chicopee police captain disputes involvement in chief’s crash, says he made ‘no accusations’ against his boss

After he was named chief, Jebb and the city accused Gilbert criminally of filing a false police report. After Gilbert was found not guilty in the case in 2016, he sued Jebb, Mayor Richard J. Kos and others in federal court, accusing them of retaliating against him for participating in investigations related to department disputes and misbehavior. Gilbert said Wednesday state police got details of his involvement in ordering the investigation incorrect and he never accused Jebb of drinking. According to the report, state police were called to the scene at about 12:10 a.m., approximately 90 minutes after the crash occurred, to block off the Exit 4B ramp from Interstate 391, where the accident took place.
