Duke vs UNC basketball: Predictions for ACC rivalry game

I think the nervous energy running through one of the most anticipated games of the year manifests itself in missed defensive assignments and career nights for almost all of the elite scorers on the floor, similar to what we saw in Gonzaga's 8987 win over Duke in Maui. If Maye can keep up with Dukes athleticism, there could be a fair case for going with Carolinas Coby White on this one, but the reality is that Tre Jones might be the best point guard defender in the country right now which could spell trouble for the Tar Heels' best offensive weapon. Greene: ...Luke Maye and Garrison Brooks are able to make Zion uncomfortable enough inside that Duke needs to rely on its jump shooting, which isn't reliable enough to carry the offensive load. Expect North Carolina to pack the paint and dare the Blue Devils to launch a slate of threes, similar to Syracuses formula when it held Duke to 9 for 43 from deep in a January victory.

Holl, senior running back James Holland Jr., and junior defensive lineman Nick Wheeler - represent the most single-season AFCA All-America selections by a Patriot League team. The Cranberry Township, Pa. native was part of a Colgate defense that finished atop the nations leaders in total defense (237.7 yds/gm) and scoring defense (9.3 pts/gm) while leading the Raiders to the NCAA DI FCS Quarterfinals.Wheeler, who finished eighth in voting for the Buck Buchanan Award, compiled 48 tackles, 16.0 tackles for loss of 61 yards, 8.0 sacks, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries this season. He is also a Second Team STATS FCS and HERO Sports All-America honoree.Pechin, a three-time First Team All-Patriot League Selection and two-time Patriot League Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year, finished fourth in the FCS in punting average (44.5 yds/punt) with a career-best 29 of at least 50 yards while 28 landed inside the opponents 20-yard line. The Patriot Leagues athletic success is achieved while its member institutions remain committed to its founding principle of admitting and graduating student-athletes that are academically representative of their class.
