Syracuse native Post Malone leaves his first Grammys empty-handed

Syracuse native Post Malone went home empty handed after being nominated for his first Grammy Awards. The Associated Press reported he submitted for consideration and was eligible because he had never been nominated before, but an insider said he lost in a vote by music industry players because he had already had success with his 2016 debut, Stoney, as well as the hit songs Congratulations and White Iverson -- released in 2015 -- making no longer a new artist. He lived in Central New York until he was 10, when his family moved to Texas because his father was offered a job working for the Dallas Cowboys. His family still owns a home in Baldwinsville and he stopped at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que in Syracuse this past summer en route to a concert performance at Darien Lake.
